  • 59 Species identified from water fowl count specific list

  • Many additional species identified and reported via eBird

  • Over half of the sectors used eBird for sites visited

44,660 birds counted to include:

  • 21,970 Canada Geese

  • 6,581 Ring-billed Gulls

  • 3,213 Ruddy Ducks

  • 2,414 Buffleheads

  • 2,304 Gull sp. - Wind, waves, white caps, and limit of optics were factors

  • 1,186 Mallards

  • Great to find and hard to find species

    • 1 - Snow Goose

    • 1 - Clapper Rail

    • 1 - Black-crowned Night Heron

    • 2 - Barnacle Geese

    • 2 - Bonaparte Gulls

    • 4 - Wilson’s Snipe

    • 5 - American Wigeon

    • 5 - Northern Gannet

    • 6 - Long-tailed Ducks

    • 6 - Laughing Gull

    The major missing bird - we did not find any Brown Pelicans
