In preparation for the upcoming Northumberland-Lancaster Counties Summer Butterfly Count on Tuesday, July 26th there will be a butterfly workshop aimed at sharpening skills for identifying butterflies and skippers as well as their host plants and habitats they need and love.
The upcoming Summer Butterfly Count is co-sponsored by the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula Master Naturalists chapters.
BUTTERFLY IDENTIFICATION WORKSHOP
SUNDAY July 17 at 7:00PM to 8:30PM
We will be conducting the Butterfly ID workshop via a Video Conference using Zoom.
The workshop is titled “Finding Butterflies and Skippers and the Host Plants and Habitats They Need and Love.”
Facilitators for the workshop are Betsy Washington and Jeff Wright. The workshop will attempt to upgrade all of our knowledge about both Butterfly IDs, Skipper IDs, and Plant IDs.
The workshop will cover field identification of butterflies and skippers and the host plants and habitats they need and love.
The material has been upgraded and expanded from what was used in the 2020 and 2021 Workshops.
Participation in the workshop will be limited to 49 folks. Please let me know if you are interested and I will make sure you are on the invitation to the Zoom event.
